Question limewire disconnected

Every time I open Limewire it shows me that it is disconnected. I cannot perform any searches. I opened all my firewalls to enable share but I do think I must be missing something. Very confused, please help.

Can you supply a few moe details. Your OS version, connection type, firewall types, how you configured LW for the firewalls & port setting, network, Java version, etc.

I'm actually quoting somebody else on the forum here: Go to Limewire->Preferences and click on the Bug Reports selection. There, click for an example and scroll down to the part where it says: Recieved incoming this session. If it says true then Limewire does not have a problem from Firewall. If it says false, Firewall(s) are blocking the connection.
Personally Firewalls are not my cup of tea, but I'm sure somebody with that knowledge may notice this thread. Meanwhile get back with your results.

Hello, about the Bug Reports thing.... I did that and it said false for me, meaning I do have a firewall problem. I know one of you said firewalls weren't your cup of tea, but if anyone could provide some assistance in this area I'd appreciate it, at least a link or something. Personally I like a good southern sweet tea.

I use Windows ME, I am on a school network. Can't think of any other details, but if you need them then just ask. Thanks

Sorry for the delayed reply but I was on vacation (heh).
Anyway, try asking people around at your school: chances are that your school may have some sort of p2p-blocking-something up. If not, then consider yourself lucky and read the FAQ about firewalls and stuff here: www.limewire.com
