ive been messin with this stupid program for HOURS!!!
Limewire4.0.8, Win XP, dial-up connection.
Ibe deleted stupid pref file, ive disabled the stupid tip window, zonealarm has been off allday cuz thats how long ive been trying to do this. ive disabled the connect on startup, ivedownloaded the stupid jar file, ive tried to execute it from dos, and ive even extracted the stupid jar file with winzip.
And ive read thousands of these stupid posts. this isnt gonna work. Nothing turns green at all, just says connecting, and then it says disconnected. seriously im ready to go download kazaa or something. i could have done that and gotten rid of all the spyware by now. MAN goodjob on wasting my time. this is stupid.

Off is not enough if you're using ZoneAlarm 5.0. You must uninstall it!

ive unistalled it...still same problem..arhhhhhhhh

I had a few probs at first with 4.0.8 on XP, I think it pays to totally uninstall LWpro and start over again, that's what i did, and it's fine now...try it hun you never know!

Download the latest beta version of LW. I have ZoneAlarm 5.0 (it is the best software firewall) and LW has always worked fine for me. I dunno, mabey LW just isn't for you. If you have done everything you have read in these forums, than you have done all you can. I don't know what else to tell you. If you want to look for a different P2P program I reccomend Download.com. Whatever you choose, good luck.

i dont want to download another program. limewire has always worked the best for me...everything else is crap or loaded with spyware...but really im losing faith in limewire. ill try the rip/reinstall thing. thanks for your help
