Unhappy Wont connect...in campus dorm room with XP

I am in a campus dorm room at UT and i am trying to run limewire i recently installed it like 2 hours ago and it fails to connect with the network my brother uses an older version of limewire and it works fine so we tried installing that on this computer and the same problem continued to exist so we erased everything and switched to the newest version...I ahve tried the method of deleting my preferences at .limewire in documents and settings i ahve also followed the instructions to configure the firewall that comes on XP to add the 2 gnutella ports and still i get nothing...i ahve also downloaded and run the jar file from a previous thread of messages i ahve Mcafee virus scan but it says that downloads and network connections are allowed I ahve also tried switching back and forth from the hardline LAN connection to the wireless internet connection and still the limewire program will connect itself to the network at all in any way, shape, form, or fashion if there is anyone out there who can help me i would be greatly appreciative because i know it can be done i just cant figure out how...Thanks

Default

I ran the test page and it was a success i dont think the school blobks p2p sharing because the person i am sitting next to is running limewire successfully on their computer in the same room as me and connected the same port in the same wall also i dont really understand what the information about the different ports is supposed to mean i configured my XP to work off the ports designated by LW on their FAQ page in concern to connection problems i was wondering if there would be any solution that you know of that might enable my program to connect to its network so the sharing can begin

Thanks and i appreciate your help
