thanks for the effort anyway.

I portscanned the router yesterday and it shows only 23 and 80 open?? That makes sense since about all I can see on the outside right now is the www (and I guess I could telnet too). What's wierd now is that bittorrent works and it uses ports 6881-6889.

I portscanned my IP and it says I have the bittorrent ports open as well as gnutella 6346 and some others. But I'm not really sure if it's scanning through the firewall. I have to remember to scan it from home to be sure those ports are open to the outside.

Anyway, I'm sure I'll eventually figure it out and I'll post the results here. Thanks for the effort.

Just an update. I scanned port 6346 from the outside and it's wide open. I don't get it.

check the LW prefs to see what port is set there. If multiple versions of LW are open, then LW might automatically change the port, to , say, 6348.
