![]() Beach Dog, I think you should try uninstalling and reinstalling Java. If you have a registry cleaner it would be a good idea to run it after you uninstall. You can download Jave here - http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4/index.jsp The 1.5 Beta is also available there. I haven't tried 1.5 yet. I run 1.4.1_04. Good Luck, Norm |

![]() Beach Dog, That would probably be the safest thing to do. If you want to tinker first open Java (either version) from the control panel. Select the Browser tab and see if IE & Netscape are checked. If both versions are checked uncheck them both & try. If that works recheck one version & try. If that doesn't work uncheck that version and check the other. That might be worth a few minutes of your time. I run two versions of Java myself. One for my browsers and one for Limewire but since you have a Java issue I would recommend you uninstall them both if the above doesn't fix it. Just FYI, I use 1.3.1_04 for Limewire and 1.4.1_04 for my browsers. Not everyone agrees that is the best combo but it works well for me. I hope this helps you. I went a little deep but I can tell from your post you are computer literate Good Luck, Norm |

![]() Hey! Happy day! I'm back in bidness! Uninstalled old versions and downloaded 1.4.2 Also downloaded the newest version of 4.0.8 Pro. Started right up. So why use two different versions, and where do you set each as a default application? Edit Preferences? |

![]() Beach Dog, I was constantly having problems with Limewire and other Java applications. A long long story. If you are working O.K. with a single version you don't even want to go there. I am glad you are back in operation. Norm |

![]() Go to your comtrol panel. There's an option that lets you tell the plugin to prevent it from starting the VM. Ivan In the dark we make a brighter light
