cannot get xp sp2 save Ip adress

After downloading xp sp2 the ip address will not stay set to 127.0.0.1 it returns to a default setting when I click ok. The ports setting is fine.
Is this the reason I can't connect and how do you fix it. I have tried all the other suggested fixes.

did you get the patch for windows service pack2? this thing should solve all problems caused by service pack2. make shure to also allow limewire through the firewall that came with service pack 2
