I can't understand why you keep creating new threads when we were discussing this issue in an earlier thread. See this: http://www.limewire.com/english/content/firewalls.shtml You may have OSX setup as a firewall (by default it's turned off), but more likely you have a router or other firewall. You need to tell us. |

Don't understand Sorry, I'm new to this forum, I think I was hitting new thread instead of post reply. I have seen the mac help page for disabling firewall and have run through it several times. I am still getting a "false" in my bug report. What else can I do to make sure it is disabled. When I click connect, it tries for like five minutes, then says disconnected. Thank you. |

That is potentially a major problem. More than likely there will be a firewall on the network. You may need to force your way thru the firewall/try another port. There's several threads that've discussed this issue. Do a search for dorm or dormitory or college or school or firewall on the forum. A router allows several comps to connect to the net simultaneously. They generally have a firewall fx. See http://www.limewire.com/english/content/firewalls.shtml and also http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...threadid=25119 Last edited by Lord of the Rings; September 17th, 2004 at 04:41 PM. |

Can you supply some more details about your comp specifics, os version, & whether you have any firewall/router, etc. I guess it depends on where this block is coming from - but we 1st need to know as many details as possible. |

I appologise I'm not the best person to answer this issue. However, since you're a Wanadoo user, you might want to do a search for Wanadoo to pick up on some points. Hopefully someone else with better connection knowledge will save the day! |
