Windows XP Connection Problems I have Windows XP and I am on a school network and I am having very big problems connecting. It says "connecting..." and only one of the red bars lights up green...can someone please help me out here?? Thanks!! |
School networks often mean firewalls and if you're running the second service pack, then the internal firewall (of XP) is by default active. Go to Tools, Options, Bug reports. Click for an example and scroll down to the part were it says "Recieved incoming this session". A "True" indicates that firewalls aren't blocking LW and the problem is elsewhere. The oposite is true if it says "False". Click here to learn how to configure firewalls. |
Still not working I did all the firewall stuff for XP and it still won't light up more than one red block...anybody have any other suggestions?? |
would you know your school net. asdmin.? maybe they are blocking p2p networking. if you don't know the preson and it's not in a country where they don't care, better not to ask sometimes. also install the latest java @ www.java.com |
Ummmmm I'm not sure who that is or anything so they are probably blocking everything out...thanks for all your help!!! |

There's always a chance they're not blocking everything. See http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...threadid=25119 & see the link alternate ports. |
