Default connectin

I have tried all of the suggestions, but I cannot connect to Limewire....can anyone help?? I click connect and it says connecting, but then always goes to disconnecting...

Can you supply us a few more details about your comp type, os version, sp version, connection type, firewalls/routers, java version, etc. Have you ever connected before? If yes when did it stop (after what event, such as updating softw/os, etc.)?

i have windows xp...i have never been able to connect before...i have the gnutella firewalls that the site suggested i add...but thats all that i really know of...oh and i'm connected through a LAN, but there wasn't that option so i said i was connected through cable/dsl cuz i thought that was the closest thing...
