![]() Hello everyone, I am running windows XP Pro, with comcast cable. I have been running Limewire for about 3 yrs now with no trouble until now. Just recently I've noticed that I can't connect at all, in fact my internet connection starts to slow down and eventually crashes my cable modem. This never used to happen, I'm thinking comcast is engaged in a secret campagin to stop P2P file sharing by tweaking your modem. So here is what I'm going to do, its a little experiment to determine whether the fault is with my computer or Comcast. I will unplug the ethernet cable from my router to my computer, I will connect to the interent via my dial up backup (Netzero) and attempt to connect to Limewire. If I am successful then all indications point to Comcast or my Old cable modem as the culprit otherwise the culprit rests with either Limewire or my computer. I will keep everyone informed. John G. |

![]() Hello everyone, I have performed my little experiment, I disconnected my ethernet connection to my router, signed on to Netzero and ran Limewire, It STILL Didn't Connect. Hence the problem is either with my computer or limewire. So to find out who is the culprit I downloaded a similar program (Bearshare), installed, then ran it. Bearshare works perfectly, with no tweaks and no modifications This tells me the problem is with Limewire. Limewire guys you've got to do a better job with your program, bearshare works beautifully. You might want to take a look at them. John G. |
