Unhappy All out of ideas

I'm at my mind's end for trying to connect with LimeWire.

I downloaded the latest version of LimeWire (4.0.8), made VERY sure that my Windows XP firewall would allow Gnutella in, disabled my Norton firewall, made sure I had Java Web Start, (is there maybe another type I'm supposed to have?) and tried the preferences fix, but to no avail.

I tried downloading both regular LimeWire and LimeWire International, (it made no difference) and I just can't think of anything else. I've followed all the instructions I can find to the letter, but no matter what, I just can't make LimeWire connect.

The only thing that's left that might be a problem is that my computer is hooked up to a university network which supposedly has a firewall that could be blocking it. However, my Kazaa works (poorly) despite this.

I really love LimeWire! The layout is perfect, and there aren't annoying popups! I really would like to keep it, so does anyone have any ideas for me?

Sorry Jack. A university firewall is pretty hard to get through, unless you know a few admins... There's not much we can do. I'd say that there's a 98% chance that the firewall is blocking your connection. LW and Kazaa are not identical programs. They connect differently, to a different network, and through a different port, and so forth. I'm sorry to say that you are almost out of luck on this one.

Edit: By the way theres a beta out now, 4.1.5. http://www.limewire.com/english/content/beta.shtml
