![]() Everytime I start LimeWire 1.6b or 1.6d (i've tried both) I get the error message in the subject line. Ok, maybe I'm a computer dinosaur, I'm running Wi*** on an older Pentium 166, but I still want to share files right? I have looked through the posts in this forum, and I find many others who have had the same problem as me, but I have never found a post with a SOLUTION. Please, someone, can you explain how I get around this in a simple and straightforward (non technical ) way. I have tried changing the port number which defaults to 6355. LineWire will not allow it. Thank you, LimeWire wizards!! Sincerely, TIM |

![]() I don't know if there's a good solution yet, but let me ask a few basic questions. 1) How do you connect to the internet? 2) Are you behind a firewall? 3) Do you have any other Gnutella clients installed or running on your computer? With the info you provide, we'll try to figure it out, ok? And if anyone already has solved this problem, please post your solution! :-) |

![]() I'm also getting this problem. I'm behind a Linksys NAT router with port 6346 forwarded to my internal IP. Incoming connections work fine, and I've never had a problem until lately. I think it started happening with 1.6b and continues on 1.6d. It doesn't happen very often -- in fact, I suspect it's something related to trying to download from a particular servent... |

![]() TruStarwarrior: The answers to your questions are as follows: 1.) via ADSL at home. 2.) Yes, I employ the latest build of ZoneAlarm v 2.6. 3.) none UPDATE: I can connect fine with LimeWire version 1.4 which I am using in the interim, until I can get version 1.6d working. I did not install v 1.4 until after I could not make v 1.6d work. I would still be interested in a solution that would allow me to use the latest version! Thanks, TIM TruStar Wrarrior wrote: I don't know if there's a good solution yet, but let me ask a few basic questions. 1) How do you connect to the internet? 2) Are you behind a firewall? 3) Do you have any other Gnutella clients installed or running on your computer? |

![]() There are reasons for 1.6 not working correctly, but we will not discuss the technical jargon here as you have requested. The LimeWire team has addressed the issue and released a slightly modified version of LimeWire. This has been shown to solve your problem. http://www9.limewire.com/download/LimeWire16d118.exe This should do the trick. It's 5.5 MBs (should be no problem for you since you use ADSL). Happy downloading. :-) Please let us know if it worked for you. |

![]() I have the same problem on Mac with 9.1. I'm using version 1.6 something. I get the error message even while downloading stuff and after clicking okay or copy selection enough times the message goes away and I am later able to connect and download stuff. |

![]() I don't know if the LimeWire developers are working on a Mac version for this. But they have stated that the problem will be fixed in future releases. No alternate download will be needed. So, I guess we'll just have to wait and see. :-) |
