Gnutella Network Blocked
 

Our server has the Gnetella Networked turned off so that it does not use up all the bandwidth, is there anyway around this? I have tried using BearShare and posted something in there and someone told me to change the port, but that does not work. Now I am using LimeWire and it isn't working either .. is there any option that I can do to get around it??

If you can find someone who knows about "proxy servers" tell them that LW can also connect through proxy servers and get them to help you.

Really though, if you have a legitimate need for academic filesharing, talk to the people who administer your school's network. I would guess they will try to help. see http://lionshare.its.psu.edu/main/ for one example of LimeWire being used for academic p2p
