![]() So you have tried all the suggestions on this board, disabled firewalls, deleted files & folders etc. and you still cannot connect to LW via your 1-way Satellite connection... Get in touch with you Sat ISP and ask about VPN (Virtual Private Networking). This will allow your Satellite connection to work WITHOUT proxies. There is then no need, to enter ANY proxy information in LW, or for that matter, any other application that requires it. OSDA is a typical VPN example. They will send you a small file, a second IP address & instructions on how to set up a VPN dial-up connection, which eliminates the need to access your secure satellite "log-in" page / software. When you have sucessfully created the connection, and connected to your usual dial-up connection, a second dialog box will appear asking for your Sat login details. Two (2) internet connection icons will appear in your taskbar. Another great bonus, is that you do not need to change any settings in WMP or Realplayer etc. to get full-speed streaming video or audio. Richard |

![]() My satellite ISP does not seem interested in providing us with a VPN connection as suggested by Dobbin. Is there a definitive answer as to whether I should be able to connect to LW through a router on my network that acts as a Proxy for the satellite connection to provide fast downloads? Thanks in advance for any info. |

![]() Hi Auchinclech If you can connect OK using Kaaza LITE 2.43 (non-spyware version or WINMX, it might be worth asking your ISP if they are blocking the Gnuttella network - some do :-( As for VPN - can't understand their problem - it's no skin off their backs whether you connect through a proxy or not - you still need a Login / P/W & IP address to get on their network - badger 'em !! Good luck m8 |
