There's no dramatic differences b/w the free & pro version. Yes you will be moe competently connected. However, if you have a fundamental connection issue with something blocking LW's access, it won't make any difference. Let's sort out your issue first. Please supply the details I asked for so we can try & work thru this bit by bit. You're annonymous here so don't be afraid to tell us specifically what equipment & softw you're using. Please say the firewall types you have anyway & also modem & router models. It could be a modem-router issue! Do you use XP & SP2? |

What type of connection is it & where are you connecting from (see my Q. in 1st post)? I presume you have a modem, it will say what brand it is & perhaps either on the side or bottom of the modem it will tell you what model no. it is. Is there more than one comp connected to the modem? |

Make sure you set-up your firewalls as instructed here: http://www.limewire.com/english/content/firewalls.shtml for XP & McAffee link can be found at bottom of that page. So your modem is probably a Broadcom softw modem that's packaged in Dell computers. This is a link to their modems & softw drivers: http://www.modemsite.com/56k/bcm.asp Last edited by Lord of the Rings; November 8th, 2004 at 01:11 AM. |
