A list of alternate ports can be found here: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...threadid=24523 If you'er happy the way it is then that's fine. But. lol You'll probably get even more people uplding from you if the report says true.

The latest beta (4.1.10) works around some connection problems on on Windows XP by limiting concurrent connection attempts to 8.

Anyway, looks like the router or something is still blocking incoming connections.

You are dwnlding but others are struggling to upld from you. If more people are uplding from you, you be able to connect to more peers when searching & dwnlding. If you check your statictics in Tools-Statistics & Advanced, you'll probably find many people have failed to connect to you.

you may be able to download from other hosts because they are not blocked on their end. Your router/firewall allows requests YOU have sent, so the replies are not blocked.

If someone tries to connect to you ("incoming connection"), they are blocked by your router/firewall.

Even when you are blocked, A third party might help negotiate the transfer, but those third parties are obviously very busy helping all the people who cannot accept incoming connections.

See the graph of who can accept incoming connections at http://www.limewire.com/english/content/netsize.shtml

See the problem?

In other words, if you can accept incoming connections, you'll have one of the best connection set-ups.

I had a similar situation as you not so long ago. I did have people uploading from me but it was only occasional. My incoming result was false. My Statistics showed many people had attempted but failed to connect to me. Once I forwarded a port, incoming became true, I had & still have several people uploading from me & a total of about 20 (the rest being queued.) My search & dwnld results suddenly increased dramatically. I was finding results in my searches I wasn't able to before. And the reliablility of my dwnlds increased. Now I can just open LW & walk away most often without even doing a search & files will start dwnlding (incomplete ones) & continue to do so for over a day at least. And no effort on my part. I only wish I had a faster upld bandwidth so I could offer more.
