I have no idea what file you are talking about. Which LimeWire version do you use?

I think this was meant to be posted as a reply but was in fact entered as a new thread...
No idea where it is supposed to be

Ursula if you check all the &ps of those who have posted in the last 14 days, I'm sure you'll find it. lol :D Hey I'm entitled to an off the cuff joke. Concentrate on the target. har har lol (Xcuse the silly sense of humour tsp)

tsp : if you're refering to deleting LW's prefs, see here: C:/Documents And Settings/your_username/.limewire You can simply use your search function (bottom-left & press Start & select Search) & find .limewire You need to delete the folder (.limewire) before restarting LW. But you must do it whilst LW is closed & make sure you remove the icon in the task panel on the lower right corner before you delete it. Then restart LW (will need to reset options) & things will hopefully be fine. If not, post back in detail about your firewalls, modem-router brand & model, Java & LW versions, & where you are trying to connect from (home, school, work, etc.)

Thank you tsp. Perhaps it's your connection.
1. Where are you connecting from: home, school, work?
2. What connection devices are you using? Can you find out both the brand & model no. of your modem & router if you have one.

tsp November 19th, 2004 10:54 AM

LORDOTR,

CON FROM HOME.
MODLE# NOT SURE, EFFICIENT NETWORKS-
SPEEDSTREAM 5200, DSL
WHY DO YOU AKS?

Lord of the Rings November 19th, 2004 11:44 AM

Thank you TSP! ;)

The reason is b/c you have a router modem that's blocking incoming & giving you connection problems. You will need to open a port to give LW access. I have instructions how to forward a port if you can log into your modem using our browser. (Please click onto the following links for instructions.)

Port Forwarding for the Efficient(Siemens) Speedstream 5200 Router & use Port no. 6346
You will also need to force IP within LW. LW settings instructions for Force IP (& sample image) & also use port 6346

Good luck. I believe this will sort your problems! :D
