hmmm. wow this is very complicated.
Which part is complicated? Forcing IP on LW or accessing your modem's port. You do know how to access your modem using your browser don't you? The address will be in your modem instructions, if not ask your isp.

Previous versions!!! Your wish has come true! The old days have returned. Have you updated Java recently & deleted your LW Prefs folder called .limewire

If Poert 6346 doesn't work for you, other usable ports can be seen here: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...threadid=24523

2. Look for your version no. LimeWireWin.exe, I suppose. Or the zip version.

Whatever port no. you use, it must be the same port number in your Linksys, LW's port & firewall setting & your xp firewall setting. You did set the firewall setting for LW didn't you. And you did set the XP firewall for LW I hope.

Alternate ports, well if you don't use port 6346 then, quote: But the short story is, ports 49152 to 65535 are the ones to shoot for. They're known as Dynamic or Private Ports, and are there to use freely without stepping on any ports being used by your computer for other things.
