Cannot even connect to the website
 
ok well i use to be able to connect to there website and actually download the thing but now it wont let me download limewire it just acts like its about to download but then my browser hangs. i have tried so many things the firewall ports but i still get hung everytime i click on the download link. i have a linksys wireless-b 802.11b connector i have turned off the windows firewall protection i dont have anymore firewalls unless they count with the computer that im connecting through. It wont even let download the java thing yall were talking about it hangs also if thats to any help.

You didn't say which Operating System (OS) you have so I'll guess it's Bill'$ windows. I can't see anything about yur modem being a blocker though I haven't had a thorough search yet.

Update your Java: Java 1.4.x OR else Java 1.5 (take the JRE) & see if that improves things.

You could also delete your LW prefs folder called: .limewire & found here: C:/Documents And Settings/your_username/.limewire

(os)- Windows XP Home Edition

ight thx but even when i try to download the java stuff it hangs for some reason. Ive updated my computer to the new microsoft service package 2.

SP2 that's probably why! Any reason why you updated or were you just following the other sheep. Sorry for the poor joke! SP2 has caused problems for people worldwide & cost amny business dollars by those who have been affected. SP2 limits port access & reverts firewall settings back to default.

Might be wise to check these out: Point A & also point B
