Default Limewire will not start up for me, HELP!

I installed LW without a problem. However, I am not able to launch the program or even set-up my options. I've tried clicking on the short-cut as well as going into my start menu. When I look in Task Manager, I don't even show this program as running.

I've deleted and reinstalled twice now to no avail. I've patiently waited for LW to pop up and nothing.

I'm on Windows XP and have not problem using P2P software like BT.

Thanks for any help.

Helen

Try updating your Java to Java 1.4.x OR else Java 1.5 (take the JRE) If you're still having a problem opening LW, go to your control panels & open Add/Remove & select LW & use the Repair option. Specific instructions are on the forum somewhere. Do a search for repair.

It worked!! I guess I didn't have the correct Java? (although I thought I dl'ed the one that limewire suggested)...

Anyway, thanks very much!

Good news. Congratulations!
The LW installer suggests the minimum Java which is Java 1.3 but installing that version is not ideal. The later/latest versions are much better for LW b/c that's what LW is designed under.
