my sister and i share a modem using a router and her ocmputer is able to use limewire fine but mine isint she has windows 2000 professional and i have XP service pack 2. im using a cable modem. so its probally not my router thats the problem

If there's a router b/w your computer & the net then your router may be at least partially blocking LW.
