Direct Connect

I seem to be having a problem using Limewire's direct connect feature. I type in the ip for my friend's computer. It seems to connect then seems to disconnect just as fast.

that can happen if his upload slots are busy or connections are being blocked by firewalls, and so on.

see if he can connect to you (send him your ip:port number that is shown just above the direct connect entry box).

He has tried also tried to connect to me and also failed.
We set the # of upload slots to 1.

Looks like you are both firewalled then.

Oh--set the upload slots to 20: see if that helps.
