LW crashes computer when I try to connect The problem: I can start LW just fine as long as LW is not connecting to the network, but as soon as I hit "connect", my computer shows the blue screen and crashes. I have it set so my comp won't automatically reset and here are a few things that the blue screen says: "DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL" and "0x000000D1" and "w22n51.sys"...it says a lot of other things, but those seemed to be the most important. When I reboot the computer, it sends the error report to Microsoft and then the internet opens and displays that I have a problem with a Graphics driver. I've searched Google for all 3 of those keywords I described above that the blue screen shows but have found no fix yet. My Computer: Compaq X1400 1.8 GHz Intel Centrino processor 1GB RAM ATI Mobility Radeon 9200 Does anybody know which driver is messing up and how I can update it, roll it back, or fix it in anyway? Or is a driver not the problem? And if so, what is? Thanks- |
Blue screens in most cases are caused by hardware problems. The most common of those is a graphics card issue. You should seek out updates for your graphics card system support. You might also see this & hope it doesn't apply to you: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...threadid=30703 |
I just wanted to post a follow-up that I finally got LW to work....thanks to wingnut, I went to Intel's website and I had to download an update to my 2200bg built-in wireless card. There had been 2 updates released since my computer came out that I didn't know about...the latest update (version 9.0) changed the whole face of the wireless networks. It all looks different and has a lot more functionality to it. Hope this works for everybody. |
