"Limewire connecting..."
 

I keep getting the above message, but Limewire never fully connects. I'm using Windows XP and I've gone through the steps needed to pass the firewall (I type in the IP address but whenever I check back the address has changed to my surname. Is that normal?). I've also checked that the port is free using one of the links on this forum, there seems to be no problem there.

If someone could help me, I'd be truly grateful. I'm clueless about these things. (My apologies if the answer is already on the forum, but there are so many posts I'm a little confused!)

Should also mention that I've tried deleting the Limewire folder as specified, but that didn't help either....

Just tried the "repair" option...that didn't work either. I'm connecting from home btw. My daughter downloaded the program a couple of days ago. It worked once for her (on Xmas eve) and hasn't worked since. Perhaps it was just a Xmas tease?

Just downloaded the recommended patch (very nervously) and rebooted..that didn't help either. Does this program REALLY work????

Well I don't how, but it's finally worked. Even though I restarted the computer after doing all of the above, last night it made no difference. However when I started the program up this morning, it worked! Perhaps it just needed to be turned off completely (not rebooted).

my limewire isnt connecting to the internet... but i am connected to the internet.... im on aol instant messenger at the same time and internet explorer is on so i know i AM connected to the internet but my limewire still says no...... im so ssaddddd
