Limewire is currently connecting to the network.

When trying to search the following message appears. Lime Wire is currently connecting to the network. Your search may not return many results until you are fully connected to the network.

Our LimeWire has worked in the past. We tried several of the solutions you offered to no avail. Is there a phone number we can call. This is very very discouraging! We paid for the service and cannot use it. Please help asap! I would like to download a song for my mother's funeral.

Can you give us a total desciption of your set up:
1. Operating System version (eg: Windows 98),
2. What firewalls you have,
3. ram, 4. HDD space available,
5. Connection type,
6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers,
7. Where are you trying to connect from (home, school, work, etc.)?
These details are vital if you want us to find out what your connection problem is.

I am having the same problem:

"Limewire is currently connecting to the network.
When trying to search the following message appears. Lime Wire is currently connecting to the network. Your search may not return many results until you are fully connected to the network."

I checked the firewall and turned my computer off but nothing has changed. I have a dsl connection on a presario 6000 compaq and have Windows XP. I am connnecting from home. I am not sure what firewall system I have but when I check it read "windows security center."

Can someone help?

2. What firewalls you have,
Look for yours here for instructions on how to configure it to allow both LW & Java full access: http://www.limewire.com/english/content/firewalls.shtml

Update your Java: http://www.limewire.com/english/cont...radejava.shtml

Delete the LW Preferences folder called .limewire (whilst LW is closed!) & found here: Windows NT 4.0 / 2000 / XP: C:/Documents And Settings/your_username/.limewire OR for Windows 98 / ME: "C:\My Documents"

But keep keep in mind once you delete your LW Preferences folder you will need to reset all your LW option settings so you might want to make a note of them 1st.

am havin the same problem too whenever i look for a song it will say limewire is currently connecting to the network. your search may not return many results until you are fully connected to the network what does this mean? my firewall is Norton Internet Security 2005 i think this is blocking limewire how to i fix this

Start here: If LW 4 Will Not Connect (click on the blue link) :)

For Norton, see Configuring Norton Internet Security & make sure your windows firewall is turned off. Running windows & Norton firewalls at same time causes clashes & problems which might not be immediately obvious. ;)
