[I have Limewire and every time I try to connect it wouldn't let me even though I do press the connect botton can any one help?]

Hallo:

to give you a helpful answer you have to provide us with a little bit more information.

Helpful will be:
- Are you firewalled or proxied, and if so, which one are you using?
- Do you encounter problems with any other net-using software, or is everything else working fine?
- Are you, maybe, in an university, at work or the like with the possibility the necessary port is blocked?
- Which OS do you use?
And so on etc. etc.....

As far as I know (which sometimes is not too far ;), the limewire ip server (which I presume limewire connects to at startup) had a temporary outage recently. So:

- Did you try to reproduce this, I mean you tried more than once or on more than one day?

Maybe it would be useful for testing purposes if you try with another servent, so you could figure out if this problem is limewire-only.

Tell us all you think what maybe related, there are no dumb questions, only dumb answers :-)

Greetings.....

Along with chr_rossi's helpful questions, I have some things to say myself. The statements on top may not by the cover look relevant, but they'll help when I look at the response.
- Does LimeWire just do absolut nothing, or does a dialog box come up telling you something?
- In other words, what exactly does LimeWire do when you can't connect.
- What port are you on? Wheter you're in a university or not, changing ports might help.

Exclamation forum: limewire

limewire got its own forum. in general it is sensible to ask client specific questions there i think. so maybe you post your more specific question there again. and don't worry, even if it takes some time - you will become a lover of gnutella
