I'm not being connected!!!

Hi,

Can somebody please help me. For some reason I'm not being connected. When I opened Limewire, the status (under the Connections tab) was showing as "Connecting....". After about 30 seconds, it just stopped, and nothing was showing in the status section. So I clicked on the "Connect" button at the bottom, but it wasn't doing anything either. I looked at all the support files and FAQs but couldn't find anything related to my problem.
Please help me get this resolved. I have a lot of music files to share and would like to get some new songs too.

You are having problems with the official version due to the Java transition LimeWire underwent a few months ago. Try downloading this version. It should work just fine. :-)

Please let us know if the Java 1.1.8 version works for you.

We'd very much like to get the Java 1.3 version working for all people on all platforms. Except for the connection problem, which is somewhat rare, the Java 1.3 version is much faster and more stable. And we'll need Java 1.3 to support new features in the future.

I'm not the person you were talking to, but the problem I've been having is identical to the one he was having, and downloading and using the other version from that link did NOT solve my problem. It's still doing the exact same thing. Any advice would be appreciated. Is there something else I should do, like uninstalling java 1.3 and then installing 1.1.8 or something?
