Can you give us a total desciption of your set up: 1. OS version, 2. What firewalls you have, 3. ram, 4. HDD space available, 5. Connection type, 6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers, 7. Where are you trying to connect from (home, school, work, etc.)?
These details are vital if you want us to find out what your connection problem is.

Its microsoft windows xp proffessional. Intel(R) Pentium(R) M The connection is a wireless ethernet. The firewall is a windows firewall that came with the computer. The computer is used at school and at home whick the home connection is a T1. Which is cabled. At home which is an apartment it is connected into the wall so there is no modem on my end. I don't have a router so there is not one unless the apartment itself had one. Thats about all the info I know.

With limited control over your net hardware, you will have to hope.

1. Do this test for us: After LW has been open for about 30 mins do this: Bug Report instructions & sample image Is it True/False? Do this test at both home & school!

2. You should configure your firewalls to allow LW & Java full access: http://www.limewire.com/english/content/firewalls.shtml

3. Update your Java: Java 1.5 (take the JRE)

4. Delete your LW Preferences folder called .limewire (whilst LW is closed!) & found here: C:/Documents And Settings/your_username/.limewire

5. Right-clicking the Limewire icon and going to properties and changed compatability setting to Windows 2000

6. Right-click on the Limewire icon on the desktop and click on Run as. Then it should up showing the current user and then switch it over to Administrator.

7. Force IP within LW: Force IP instructions & sample image

A lot of schools nowadays deliberately block p2p use or particular apps or ports.
