Ulitmate Limewire enigma?? Alright folks, put on a pot of coffee and pull out the manuals I think I have what might be the ultimate limewire enigma.
Here's the problem: I connect just fine all the way to "excellent". The problem is that after just a few minutes of being on-line and downloading my connection progressively detriorates down to nothing! I can be connected at "excellent" and downloading a file from 8 cable/dsl/T1 sources and be getting like 1kb or nothing at all. Again I have no problem connecting but the longer I am on the worse the connection "rating" and speed get.
Other info: I am on Highspeed internet connection (Directway Satellite), I am running windows XP pro with SP2, the XP firewall was modified as directed here but it didn't help so I turned it off completely and I am not running any other firewalls of any kind.
What I've tried to fix this: I have tried modifying the firwall as directed but that didn't help, I downloaded the "patch" that was suggested and that didn't help. I turned off the windows firewall. My service provider does not block P2P access. I tried adjusting the number of downloads/uploads and the bandwith percentage. I have tried turning on and off the Ultrapeer setting. I tried the bug report suggestion (though I do not understand at all what I am looking for or what it means or any of that since the phrase "look at the bug report" & a screen shot are not an explanation or diagnostic tool, it is a pretty picture with no instructions). I updated to the latst version of Java and am running limewire V. 4.2.6 Basicly I combed the forum and tried every common solution proposed but nothing worked, then again no one else seems to have the same problem I am having, most people either can't connect or can't download, I can do both but the longer I am on the worse the connection gets till it disconnects completely.
Alright Gnutella geeks, what say you?
