I know Napster.... And Limewire, You are no Napster!!!! I am a mac user who is expererincing great frustration trying to connect to any hosts. I recently installed the new version of limewire and ever since i can't make a connection. I have even tried reinstalling vers.1.4b which at one time worked for me but know that doesn't allow me to mconnect either. Are there any mac users out there that have had some success connecting either with autoconnect or otherwise???? Any hosts that have been good to them??? |

I love guys like you. " I Donts know Nothing About NO MACs So's I'se just makes fun of em." First off ya Limey, If the PC was soooooo effin great why is it good ole windows is always looking to pattern their interface to look like the Mac. Secondly in the world of graphic design there is only one machine that matters and that would be a MAC. So unless you wish to find me a new occupation I'll stick w/ it. Thirdly, if I were going to get a PC I'd get a real one not some piece a crap Emachine. Why don't I just run out and get WEBtv or better yet maybe I can find an old Commodore 64 at a yard sale. Sooooooooooo until you get more than 3 channels on your TV's, stop paying 6lbs for a liter of gas, (thats petrol to you),learn the art of dentistry, and find a way to keep the hooves are your damn livestock out of their mouths. I'll Keep my Mac and stay over here on the only side of the pond that matters. Last edited by battmoon; September 2nd, 2001 at 02:37 PM. |

What does it mean to wank? I suspect it doesn't mean what I think (as that is something I tend to do for free). Since I don't fix toasters, I am curious as to exactly what it is I am supposed to be doing with my career choice. I would certainly hate to fall short of your expectations! |

It would be very nice if these frequently posting unregistered guests would register. Do you feel anonymous behind that name? Are you too scared to stand and be counted for your opinion? |

"Maybe it escaped your notice while you were having your little tantrum but the "Limey" (I assume you meant myself) made no detremental remarks concerning the MAC. On the other hand, the detremental remarks came from 2 unknown persons (as usual) who could very well come from you own glorious land." Yes you are correct the message was unregistered so I apologize if my mouth got ahead of my mouth, but much of it was meant tongue in cheek. I have just gotten tired of the PC elitists on this board. Yes the Pc is better for certain tasks but it can't hold a stick to the Mac in other areas. If you don't know don't bother to respond. As for litres yes in Europe it is spelled that way but here it is liters ala' color, colour. And yes It was a reference to foot in mouth it is known here as hoof in mouth. 6 pounds ya got me on I thought the abbrev was the same. Honestly i love England it's where I spent my honeymoon and if ya ever get things right w/ your cows i'd love to visit again |

Restraint Folks, This Mac diatribe and rejoinder business isn't helping with the problem. Could we deal with the connection issue and knock off the Mac vs. whatever debate? I posted a "fix" I had found in an FAQ, and it worked for several days, but now is not working. To wit: "Try typing these host cache addresses into the address field on the Connections tab: connect1.gnutellanet.com:6346 connect2.gnutellanet.com:6346 connect3.gnutellanet.com:6346 connect4.gnutellanet.com:6346 " This worked for a few days and now no longer works. Limewire says it's connecting and then one-by-one the connections evaporate from the screen with no connection made. If anyone can help, it would be greatly appeciated. Thanks, Win |
