One person said this about Tiscali: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...8656#post88656 but it might depend on where you are.

I came across These results

Sometimes they block ports, sometimes particular p2p apps, sometimes slow them down, & use Sandvine filters.

I was previously with tiscali until this year, Tiscali was great no probs i had a 512 connection abd was downloading at about 50kbs, i only crossed to Euro1net because it was cheaper and supposedly faster at 1meg connection speed. this problem only occured when i crossed over, that is why i asked ........is my new isp to blame for loss of connection to p2p

I rang euro1net asking about port blocking and yes certain isp's do block ports. yes you still can download unlitimted as they say from the internet but you cannot download directly from software such as kazaa and limewire. this is there way of getting around the 'unlimited' download. ive swapped now to talktalk.net. soon as im connected ill see if this is better, i rang them asking do they block ports they said no we dont.

my advise is to ask your isp before you sign up

Good advice! That's exactly what I did 5 months back. I wanted to be certain.

im now with TALKTALK.NET broadband... excellent up and running again.

MAKE SURE YOU ASK YOUR ISP IF THEY BLOCK YOUR PORTS SO YOU CANNOT DOWNLOAD FROM P2P SOFTWARE
