Connection Problems
 

I have been using Limewire for a long time and I recently moved. Now that my computer is hooked up I can't get on limewire. It just says disconnected when I open it. Please help me!

Have your tried going in LimeWire to file and clicking connect.

If you have would you please provide the following information:

Machine Type (MAC or PC) & CPU
Operating System
LimeWire Version
Java Version
Firewalls
Modem type & Model no.
Connection Type (Dialup, ASDL, DSL, Cable)

Thank you for responding. Yes I did try the first suggestion.

I have a PC (dell)
Windows XP
Limewire 4.4.3
Java (I think) 2 v1.3.1_04
Where do I find the firewalls? Do I need to disable them?
sb5100 motorola wireless modem (roadrunner)

I hope that is all you need. Like I said before, I have been using limewire for a while. The only thing that has changed is my service. I used to have dsl and now I have cable wireless. I changed over when I moved. Thanks and I hope to hear back soon.

Make a note of your LW settings & then close LW & delete your LW Preferences folder; instructions here: Fixes for Limewire

You'll need to configure your firewalls as in here: http://www.limewire.com/english/content/firewalls.shtml to give LW full access.

Go to LW's menu Tools>Options>Advanced>Firewalls & select UPnP & press the Apply button.
