This may be important to some, but not all.

If you have Comcast, and you use Bittorrent. Comcast is blocking Bittorrent using something called ''SandVine''. There are some solutions if you search on google. This sucks for me!

Netflash (ISP in Ontario, www.netflash.net) openly admitted they block P2P traffic in an email (their excuse is it is unhealthy). They provide a wireless service to rural areas. Portion of the email is below:

I'm assuming that this is through a peer-to-peer program, that allows you to download music, movies, etc for free.

This type of service, as well as many other unhealthy items, such as
viruses and spyware, are very unhealthy for any network, and a wireless
network is very sensitive to these unhealthy items. As a result we have
blocked many of these items to ensure reliability and maximum uptime.

She's right. We paid for this service. There are all these posts about this and no one can solve them. Saying things like "sometimes you have do to things on your own". Well I for one went and paid for the upgrade again, and I have been trying for 6 hours now everything in the forum. You tend to get alittle frustrated when you paid for something you can't use.

Well CCSmith

What is this service you have paid for? If you knew about the gnutella network you would know that no-one owns it, no-one controls it, there are no guarantees and so no service.

What you have bought is specialist software and, as anyone who knows about specialist software, they sometimes require some configuration to work with your particular equipment.

Unfortunately, it seems that the more facilities, features and bug fixes added to the Limewire application the more difficult it becomes to configure. And, as such, progressively more people find it difficult to work with their equipment.

I guess that at some stage the LW Org may develop a slightly different way to incorporate additional facilities without affecting their current user base but until then ???????

Angry connection problems

I am also having issues. I use verizon and I do believe they are blocking port 6342. Should I try another port? How to go around this?
