Current Gnutella Hosts List, Please?

Having spent the last 12 hours working through 6500 hosts without a connection, I'm prepared to believe that my hosts file is much too old. Could someone please post some current hosts that I could initiate a new connection with?

Which version of LW are you using? It sounds as though it must be a very old version if you rely on adding your own hosts.

Apologies for the ?cross? post - I didn't spot a forum for gnut 0.4.28 (on Debian 3.0 "Woody" revision 2).

The last time I had a connection was almost a year ago (I've been travelling), and it seems none of those IPs are still running.

Similarly, I'm not getting anything out of the big names like route.limewire.com, public.bearshare.net or gnet2.ath.cx...?

Has something changed in these parts?

Thanks,

Wight

wow, Gnut is SO old and uses WAY outdated technology. It is normal you can't connect... Download a more recent Gnet client please! For linux, good clients are Limewire and GTK-Gnutella.

Awww, c'mon!

the delightfully consolish gnut 0.4.28 is currently running, with 21G of files to serve over a healthy cable connection to the first person to "show me theirs".

I'm at 24.80.169.154:6346. Do let's get connected.

(ps if the gnutella protocol has actually changed, let me know, and I'll take myself out back. A man should shoot his own dog.)

Hmm I'm a LOT more in the known about that. Gnut was outdated 4 years ago... I can imagine right now how it delightfully sucks. Reality is that all Gnet servents dropped Gnutella 0.4 protocol that Gnut supports. Comparing Gnut to a up to date Gnet client is like comparing a non working 1970 Lada to a todays Ferrari.

Get it?

*sigh* Very well, I understand.

Bless you, bless your parents for having you, and bless the vin ordinaire that brought them together on the Rue St Catherine.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I've got a mercy killing to attend to.

et voilà February 18th, 2005 03:46 AM

hahahaha, malheureusement, ce n'est pas de cette façon que cela s'est passé. Le vin ordinaire, on n'en a pas ici...

:D
