![]() Thank you very much. You helped me yesterday night! Now I can connect to Limewire, but when I start Limewire and want to download a track, I cannot downloading faster than 1 Kb/s anf this is impossible because I am always downloading from 4 or even more PC´s. Could you please help me once more? I use the router Zyxel Prestige 600, but I do not use any firewalls, and now work with windows2k. I have an usual DSL-Internet. Do you need more information to help me?? Last edited by Ethan1985; January 5th, 2005 at 10:50 AM. |

![]() You can open a port for LW: Port 6346 This will allow LW requests & uplding from you. Whether it directly affects your dwnlds I'm not sure. But having people uplding from you will improve your search & dwnld results. 1. I don't have instructions specifically for your model but see if this works for you: Port Forwarding instructions for the ZyXEL Prestige 623 But you will need to set up a static ip 1st! Link to instructions are provided there. 2. Make a note of all your LW option settings then, delete the LW Preferences folder called .limewire (whilst LW is closed!) & found here: C:/Documents And Settings/your_username/.limewire 3. Also force ip within LW: Force IP instructions & sample image 4. Update your Java: Java 1.5 (take the JRE) Some xtra hints: A well set-up LW can start to automatically continue its dwnlding after it's settled down perhaps 2 out of 3 times you open LW. Optimising LW & Maximising Uplds & Dwnlds A (1st post only) & also Part B which is even better & last & least are search & dwnld hints. The latter one I've been thinking about re-writing for some time. That's just for playing it safe. eg- I show all speeds & qualities. ![]() OK you should forward a port (open a port) for your router. See HERE (probably best to choose 1st in results.) BUT you must 1st set up a static ip which is explaned in a link on the previous page link (2nd line.) You should use Port 6346 If you should still have problems after this it means your router does not support UPnP so see here: Force IP instructions & sample image Common Firewall configurations for LW can be found here: http://www.limewire.com/english/content/firewalls.shtml ALso update your Java: Java 1.5 (take the JRE) |

![]() See if this helps: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...threadid=34114 In future please keep all your posts to the one topic!!! Press the Reply button not new thread button. Otherwise we will start to ignore your posts: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/announ...?s=&forumid=29 By the way if Force IP doesn't work very well, then use UPnP instead if you're using LW 4.4 or 4.6 |
