![]() I've been SCOURING the forums for perhaps a good solid hour, and I'm fairly sure I've not seen a solution to this one. Specs: Limewire v4.6 Java 1.5 (or whatever latest is..updated yesterday) WINXP AMD processor Windows Firewall ISP = COMAST Okay, I CLEANLY install limewire, get the new download (yay-rah!). However, when I connect, it shows me as TURBOCHARGED (OOHH EEMM GGGEE). This, you would think, would be a good thing, right ? WRONG. I can't access any search results, cannot connect to anything, can't load a web page, can't get on anything. MY CONNECTION DIES!! Then I'll close limewire completely, and after a good solid 2-3 minutes. Boom bang, here comes my internet connection. Back again. This is frustrating, I can't fix it, tried putting in 6436 or w/e the port number is on WinFireWall, but to NO avail. For the love of god, save a potential WinMX user... |

![]() Try: Fixes for Limewire (Delete your LW Prefs folder.) http://www.limewire.com/english/content/firewalls.shtml Can you give us a total desciption of your set up: How much Ram? HDD space available? Connection type? (eg: dialup, broadband, cable, etc.) Modem & router brand name & model numbers? Where are you trying to connect from (home, school, work, etc.)? What version of Limewire (LW) do you have? (Go to LW's menu Help>About LW...) |

![]() I have been able to in the past though! I mean, the problem only seemed to rise till AFTER I upgraded to v4.6..and I know for a fact that before that I could upload and download..so I don't get it. Specs for the one guy (forgot name): AMD Processor Limewire v4.6 Java 1.5 125 gigs left on my box You wanted Ram..now this is stranger..I have about 448 total. I average at about 250 free at most times. This is very strange though, when I loadup Limewire..my ram drops drops drops...from 250MB down to about 3-1MB!!! I just noticed it today. I'm on a Wireless internet connect (COMCAST HIGH-SPEED) Linksys Router (comcast brand) Any and ALL help would be MUCH appreciated.. Last edited by Telestrial; February 26th, 2005 at 03:09 PM. |
