![]() Ok, I cannot get LW to connect for anything and all the advice I found is for XP. I have NO firewall or anti-virus on my computer. Everything else works fine except LW. I have version 4.8 pro. Everything else is to the best of my knowledge default, can anyone help? |

![]() Do this test: Bug Report instructions & sample image Is the result True/False? Can you give us a total desciption of your set up: 1. What firewalls you have? 2. (a) HDD space available? (b) ram? 3. Connection type? (eg: dialup, broadband, cable, etc.) 4. Modem & router brand name & model numbers? Where are you trying to connect from (home, school, work, etc.)? 5. What version of Limewire (LW) & Java do you have? (Go to LW's menu Help>About LW...) 6. Who is your ISP provider? 7. Is this the 1st time you've used LW? If no, what was the previous version? |

![]() Your modem should be able to recognise UPnP technology. Go to LW's menu Tools>Options>Advanced>Firewalls & select listening port to 6346 & tick UPnP & press the Apply button. Then go back to menu File>Connect. Give it some time. 2. If that doesn't work, go back to LW's firewall settings, choose port 4915 instead. See how that goes. If still not work get back to us. You might need to forward a port on your Speedstream. Actually I'll give the instructions now just in case. 1st is very important to set up a static ip for this to work. 1. See http://www.portforward.com/efficient/5200.htm for both setting up static ip 1st & then forwarding a port. Choose port 6346. 2. Force IP instructions & sample image & 2 posts after that. |
