Problems with Connecting to 4.8 Limewire

Att; Windows XP users.

If you find that you still can't load your limewire even though you have followed every step in Limewires main page, then you will probably have to do what I did. For some reason, nobody else has come across this problem.

What I learned was that if I manually deleted my old version of Java J2SE runtime environment from my computer and then go back to limewire and reload the newier version, I was up and running again.

For those who are not sure how to do this, its easy:

- first make sure that you have followed Limewires home page/connection problems steps first. You can find this at
limewires homepage under connections.

- then go into your start up menu and click on your control panel.

- then go into your add/remove programs.

- scroll down to your java (J2SE Runtime Environment file) and delete/remove it.

- once you have done this. Go back to limewire's home page and
reload the new version. it will automatically reload the newer version of java for you and voila!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was so happy that I figured it out because I just love this music site, its fast, quick and just plain awesome! When I couldn't connect I was forced to look around for other sites and let me tell you, so SLOW and just not user friendly. Lots of clicking back and forth which I found to be a pain in the butt. BearShare Lite and Shareaza just didn't cut it and I remember being so disappointed because they were really slow and good luck having a good connection. Anyways, let me know if it works for anyone reading this.
