Question Can connect to the network but cannot share

Hi! I downloaded LimeWire about a month or so ago and everything was working fine. Now it seems that when I open LimeWire, it says that my quality is excellent but it won't share any of my files. I have Windows XP and LimeWire 4.8.0. Can someone please help? I am not very PC-knowledgeable. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Do you have XP service pack 2? (it's worth a shot, but I don't think that that's the problem)

Thanks for your help. Not sure if I have XP service pack 2. I did notice that when I went into my library, I only had two folders, one for incomplete files and the other for saved files. I don't have a folder for shared files.

In LW tools>options>saving ---- this shows the directory where your saved file location is ---- After they finish d/l that is the location the file is moved to.

Right under saving is sharing ---- you can go there and click the add button, which will open a window where you can locate the folder and add it.

You should then be able to go to the library and see that folder there.

In windows --- start>control panel>add or remove programs --- if you have sp2 it should be listed towards the bottom. NOTE: On the left side of --- sort by ----- there is a box that needs to be checked for show updates. Make sure that box is checked.

Ok... So I had this same problem today. When I went through all the steps that you told me to, LW shut down. Then when I tried to restart it, I got a pop up box asking me what language I would like LimeWire to use. It sounds to me as if everything was deleted or something. I don't know what to do because I don't want to lose all of my songs that I had stored in LW. What can I do? (NOTE: I am not very computer savvy lol)
