Poor and Fair connections

About 2 weeks ago, my Limewire quit working like it used to. I used to always get Excellent or Turbo connections, now I only get Poor, Fair, or switching between the two and connecting.

Sometimes I can search and find results, but often I cannot. When I can and start a download, it says downloading from X number of hosts with 0KB transfer speed endlessly.

Here is what I have tried:

1) I have verified that port 6346 is open through my modem and router. (http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ is a success.)

2) Uninstalled and reinstalled limewire.

3) Deleted the .limewire directory

4) Reinstalled Java

Any suggestions, or is Kazaa in order?

Hmmmm Who is your Internet Service Provider?

Might want to check out this link/sticky. ISP's know to block/filter.... http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...threadid=33712

It's a small regional ISP: www.st-tel.net

If it was an ISP port block, how would the port test work?

Checked out your ISP doesn't appear to be the issue. Nice speed test they have though.

Would you provide the following information.

Computer and CPU
Operating system and sp (MAC,Win98)
RAM
HDD
Firewalls
LimeWire Version
Java Version
Modem type and model no.
Router type and model no.

1) Home-built AthlonXP Mobile 2400+@2250MHz, 512MB RAM, 120GB hard drive

2) WindowsXP Professional SP2

3) Limewire 4.8.1

4) Java 1.4.2_03

5) Modem = Zoom X5 series 1014 (routing disabled)

6) Router = Dlink DI-514

Bear in mind from my original post that this all worked as recently as two weeks ago. Neither my router or modem has changed or even had changed settings since the problem cropped up. (Also, if it iwas a router/modem/firewall problem, the port test would not work.)
