Limewire was unable to load the Java Runtime Environement

Connection Problems Problems getting the LimeWire or WireShare program connecting to the Gnutella network. (not about connecting to files, that is a Download/Upload Problems section issue.) Please supply system details as described in the forum rules.

Limewire was unable to load the Java Runtime Environement

Apologies if this has been posted elsewhere, I did have a look but couldn't find anything. For some reason limewire has a launcher error which says:

"Limewire was unable to load the Java Runtime Environement. PLease download and install a newer version from http://www.java.com.

Ok, basically I have downloaded all the necessary files. In my add/remove programs list I can see that I have the J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 1 and Update 2 "supposedly" installed and Java 2 Runtime Environment Standard Edition v1.3.1_15 installed. Despite removing anything and everything to do with java on my computer i could not get rid of the Update 1 and Update 2 off my list. Does anybody know what is going on!!!
