![]() Running a "netstat" command with LimeWire having been up about a week or so, I see that I have a lot (over 100 at one point) of sockets/connections in the CLOSE_WAIT state. Doing some digging, I see that a lot of these zombie sockets map to IP addresses from which I have attempted downloads. This may be related to the fact that sometimes LimeWire does not notice that a remote host is no longer available. Sometimes it will insist that it is still downloading long after the remote host has become unpingable. So...is this a shortcoming of winsock, or the kinds of sockets LimeWire is using, or is this an indication of a bug in the socket-handling code in LimeWire? |
