Unable to connect anymore The Limes appear then the screen freezes then the limes disappear. I used to be able to get downloads just fine then it seemed to go bad on me . I got this error message: "Could not find a port to use for incoming connections. Please specify a port from the configurations window," I don't understand what is meant by a port or where the configurations window is.. I can't even get this message any more. I have also downloaded Mactella and get get that to connect either. I am running Mac 9 on an Imac SE DV 450 mhz. I have installed and uninstalled Limewire for Macs (classic) twice. The second time I got a main window but could not connect. Next day I could no longer get a main window only a screen freeze and a blank out. What a bummber! Please advise. |
Kathy, Thank you for the reply. I am using Limewire Mac and now all I get is the clock that says "Application starting", the the picture of the Limes, then it fades to blank, then a screen freeze which means I "Force Quit" by pressing command, option escape on my key board. I have installed and uninstalled Limewire Mac several times, still the same bad results. I tried downloading Mactella , typed in several addresses as recommended, none of them worked. I also got"Not connected " every time. This is both weird and disappointing since on Sept. 10 I downloaded, with difficulty as I had to connect many times, "Things have changed" by Bob Dylan. What can I do to restore my connection? Thanks, Thelma (lightning49) |
The alternate version of Limewire is not good for MACs so I don't know what to do. I wonder if this had anything to do with world trade center blowing up, as it happened at the same time. My phone was out and I had to change my ISP dial-up number (I'm in New York City). I have uninstalled LImewire MAc and unless someone has another ide for me, I will wait a few weeks and try again . Thanks, Thelma:confused:    |
:) Adam, Limewire 1.7 (or 17) is not a lemon! Thanks for the tip. Thelma (lightning 49) |
