connecting...... FOREVER plz read

I have a DLINK wireless router DI-624.. my question is... do i have to set up a static IP like the dude with the airport wireless router had to do to make the connection?

I have a D-Link Wireless adapter also and have the same exact problem. hope we get some answers.
