OK Found a test page even better than the one that's down now (by the way the people at the front desk generally don't really know if the isp is blocking b/c they're generally not told.) Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www.grc.com/port_6346.htm (Press Probe this port button) Does it say open or closed? If 6346 is closed then find a port no. that's open & you can use! Test different port no.'s! By the way, the last http proxy suggestion I heard is to use port 80 b/c that's what the browsers generally use & isp's can't very well block that port or they'd be outta business! lol |

HMmm Ughh these plusnet geezers need a good smack lol!! Ive got a port 80 proxy in at mo in my limewire... would that be the reason why its stealth. Another quyestion in the proxy workaround.... do u have to enter the proxy in the connection menu of ur internet options??? |

sorry for the amount of posts!! would this help on the stealth side?? Your system has achieved a perfect "TruStealth" rating. Not a single packet — solicited or otherwise — was received from your system as a result of our security probing tests. Your system ignored and refused to reply to repeated Pings (ICMP Echo Requests). From the standpoint of the passing probes of any hacker, this machine does not exist on the Internet. Some questionable personal security systems expose their users by attempting to "counter-probe the prober", thus revealing themselves. But your system wisely remained silent in every way. Very nice. |

PLUSNET HAVE NOT BLOCKED LIMEWIRE PORTS I posted before saying that filesharing was low priority, but it turns out that is just on broadband plus and that normal broadband allows Limewire all the time. I just called them up, its your network. EDIT: what does "stealth" mean, anyway? Last edited by jamestwisleton; April 26th, 2005 at 12:25 PM. |

?? Im sorry to argue but PlusNet HAVE bloked the P2P ports on the HOMESURF accounts. Look at this email from them We are pleased to be able to inform you that a member of our Customer Support Centre has now returned ticket number [ 16381018 ] to yourself. The following comment was added to the ticket Dear Mr Wagner, The account type you are on "adsl home surf" is a restricted account and all peer 2 peer ports are blocked. This has always been the case however modern software in some cases could get round this. We now have equipment in place which now restricts traffic correctly on your account type that is why you are seeing this occuring. If you wish to have all ports unblocked you will need to check our current product range and select a product on which you could do this. Our £21.99 premier package with a usage allowance of 30Gb would be ok for what you are trying to achieve. |

Sorry about that, I'll just check what account I have, I assumed I had the same as you but clearly not. If I were you, I'd get the £24:99 a month 2MB unlimited package, I'm getting that and P2P isn't blocked. I'll just check with PlusNet, I think I'm paying £18:99 right now. |
