Default Limewire wont even Open - PORT OPENING HELP

Hi,

I am on a LAN with 2 other computers, and we use a BT Voyager 205 router to access the internet. Now I know there are alot of problems with limewire and it wont even open if it cant establish a connection.

So I need help on configuiring my router to open the port that limewire uses. I have tried a few ways of getting it to work, but they never worked.

When ever I load limewire, all I get is a Beige Dialog box, with Language Select as a title, and nothing on it.

Please help me fix the problem, or better still fix it in limewire

Thanks

SOunds like you could have more than one problem such as with your graphics card settings or driver.
See: http://portforward.com/routers.htm

Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there?

Can you give us a total desciption of your set up:
1. OS version? (eg: Windows 98)
2. What firewalls you have?
3. How much ram?
4. Hard Disk space available?
5. Connection type? (eg: dialup, broadband, cable, etc.)
6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers?
7. Where are you trying to connect from (home, school, work, etc.)?
8. What version of Limewire (LW) & Java do you have? (Go to LW's menu Help>About LW...) Will show both LW & Java version.
9. Who is your isp provider?
10. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user.

It says 'Yes it worked"

PC Stats:
Aibt AN7 Mobo
AMD XP3200 (200x10.5)
512MB Corsair DDR CAS 2
WD 80GB HDD 8MB Cache
ATI 9600XT Fireblade edition
Windows XP - SP2
Zone Alarm
Behind BT Voyager 205 router
1MB Broadband
Connecting at home
latest version of limewire

This is the frist time I ran limewire. Also, I left it on yesterday and it took 20-30 mins for the language select dialog box to appear, now when I open limewire to search for something it takes 1-20 minsto even laod the blimming window.

The guys who make limewiere really need to make this program less web based - I can hardly use the internet when opeing the prorgam -
A) It hugs my pc resources
B) It takes every little bit of bandwidth left so I cant use net.

This is just STARTING the app, not downloading anything.

So far Limewire = 100% CRAP with me,

Hi Alex[RM-UK]

The problem you are suffering is caused by your ATI catalyst. You can check this link out.
