HELP! NO CONNECTION- Message Error!

I am connecting, through an old modem... 56k. eck... Anyways, even on slow connections Limewire should still work... Right? Well, whenever I start Limewire, I get an error message saying: Limewire was unable to set up a port to listen for incoming connections. Some features of Limewire may not work as expected. ... I am sorry if this is an easily fixed problem, but I have browsed the FAQ's and other forum messages relating to this problem and I haven't found anything to help.

Note: I have McAfee Firewall Installed, but all of my ports are open (there was no setting tab under the properties). Also, I have tried enabling just a port for Limewire, again, no luck. I have visited the "testpage" and as far as I know, it thinks it's working. But all that happens, is I open it, get the message, hit ok, and then Limewire just sits there trying to connect. I had let it sit all night last night, and this morning it was not connected.

Yeah, so any help or suggestions, or links to awnser my problem would really be appreciated.

You only need one active firewall. If you have XP then disable XP's firewall since running 2 can interfere with each other.

General firewall instructions here: http://www.limewire.com/english/content/firewalls.shtml

McAffee here: http://ts.mcafeehelp.com/displaydoc....egoryId=62889/

After opening LW wait 10 to 20 mins before using. Let it settle down 1st. If you have many shared & incomplete files then these might take quite a while to load & settle. So you might be wise to wait longer, particularly if you don't have a fast computer.

Hmm, well. I originally disabled XP's firewall, and left a port open for Limewire in McAfee... But I still get the message, and it really doesn't seem to want to connect. SO, Then I Turned off McAfee, and only allowed XP's firewall to run, again dedicating a port specifically for Limewire... No luck. I also turned them both off - No Luck. And it seems like anything I do, I get the same results. This is very annoying, as I have used Limewire in the past. Maybe the newer version I downloaded was corrupted? Or bugged? Hmmph.

Here are stats for cpu:
3.2ghz p4ht
512mb ram
56k ethernet card

So I just don't get it. HELP. Anymore suggestions?
