Default Mac 10.5.2 connection problems.

Hi, this is my first post- I've tried my best looking through threads for information, as problems on other macs are the same-- Limewire opens fine, but in the bottom left corner only one green bar and four red bars of connection, as well as the brick wall detecting a firewall.

Previous threads haven't helped as 10.5.2's System Preferences are different to previous versions, as Firewall settings are under Security, rather than Sharing and this screenshot that Lord of the rings posted is nothing like the Firewall settings under Security in 10.5.2

Help would be wonderful, thanks in advance.

5. Connection type? (eg: dialup, broadband, cable, etc.)
6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers?
7. Where are you trying to connect from (house, appartment complex, school, student accomodation, work, etc.)?
8. What version of LimeWire (LW) & Java do you have? (Go to LW's menu Help>About LW...) Will show both LW & Java version.
9. Who is your ISP (Internet Service Provider)?
10. Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there?

Your OSX firewall settings are correct, but since I see in the image your firewall is not turned on, then the problem is either your modem/router or isp.
I did take snapshots of Leopard's settings like you about a month ago but haven't got around to posting here yet.

Broadband but it's ADSL 2??, and a Billion modem.
I'm a bit technologically incapable.

I'm connecting from Home, using Limewire 4.16.6 and Java 1.5.0_13
ISP is iinet and "problem loading page" when I try and go to that page.

And LOTR - that was your snapshot i was posting, my Firewall settings are completely different and offer no New, Edit, Delete or List . . . and have no scroll with those options.

I went to the Limewire issue page and the information there doesn't help 10.5.2

Thanks guys

Under System prefs -> Security -> Firewall tab ... is 3 options.
1. Allow all incoming connections. (no firewall is applied except to suspicious items.)
2. Allow only essential services. (eg: updates, etc.)
3. Set access for specific services and applications. (programs such as LW.)

If you select option 2 or 3 you will see the + sign show. That's how you can add them. But my guess is yours is set to 1 so the firewall is not even on.

iinet do not block p2p.

The problem will be your billion modem.

You will need to log into your billion modem and turn on UPnP. If it has no such option then you will need to port forward. Try UPnP first and see how you go.

On my old mac, I had to turn Tiger's firewall off, else it clashed and blocked out my router's log page. lol I was unable to access the advanced pages.
