Default Modem works better than a router

I've been using LW for ages using adsl usb modem (voyager 105) However, I've just installed voyager 205 modem/router to take advantage of the ethernet connection and I can now only get a max of 5 ultrapeers - speed is ok at t/charged.

If I go to options/advanced/firewall and set to manual, I get masses of connections (no ultrapeers interestingly) but the speed rarely rises above 'good'.

I didnt change any router settings at all. I'm sure I need to but need accurate guidance.
I went back to my 105 modem and everythings cool.

Any ideas/help? much appreciated.

I thought your bt voyager 205 supported UPnP but I'm not sure.

If you want to manually forward a port, then follow the instructions here (must set up a static ip 1st for it to work!!!) & open port 6346.
http://www.portforward.com/btvoyager/205adsl.htm If you do this, don't forget to use the manual port forward setting within LW.

Disable your XP firewall! (go to the control panel, double click on Windoze Firewall, check the disable box) & instead just use Norton FW but you need to configure it: *Configuring Norton Internet Security
