Connections are very patchy and interupted Approx 3 months ago (when version 6 came out) I have begun to have several problems with connections. 1. Connections with hosts is very patchy - previously i would connect with over 2k in hosts all with stable links - now I watch the connections go up to 500 say and then drop down to 50 - it keeps doing this 2. Download speeds are very patchy - I used to have speeds over 25kbs but now very rarely over 5kbs often there is no file transfer - it remains at 0kbs I have an ADSL connection in the UK running at 576kbs there should be no issue. Can anyone give me any clues I would be most grateful |
How about this.. I've been d/l the same song for 2 days, connections kept dropping off, but one thing was weird -at one point it kept d/l when I had zero hosts. How does it do that? :) Got the little sucker in the end...Nice Tune:) |
Having the Same Problem I am having the usual troubles that everyone is having not being able to connect most of the time. Lately it has been connecting, but when it does, I get the same issues. Low speeds, patchy connections, and getting sick of it. |
no connections with LimeWire Kath- the reason you can see "no files/disconnected" and still be downloading, is that once you have located the file you're after, you form a direct connection to that macine, similar to how you can DCC files in IRC, whilst not being connected to a server. I have only just started using Gnutella, and was recommended LimeWire (then at 1.6d). So I didn't know that seeing 26 hosts wasn't supposed to be right. I have twice seen 1k hosts over the past few weeks, but never more. Usually it's very low. However, my laptop, on which I run gnut, does far, far better, which points at some issue with LimeWire, or the configuration thereof. Just now I have noticed that I cannot add a host with the box immediately below the connected hosts table, though I can delete. So what the hell is it there for? |
